I’m a bag lady.
January 14th, 2008 » 196 viewsYou know how it’s like, when you think you’re only going to be out for 5 minutes around the neighbourhood and therefore you put on your most comfortable clothes and shoes. Lets put it this way, some of us dress according to the distance and not situation. Well this 5 minutes for me, has extended to places like The Curve and 1U.
Friends who saw me alone basically didn’t think it’s me. Friends who saw me with my boyfriend think he’s going out with a bag lady. It’s gotten to an excruciating point where friends have to call me up to make sure it’s me 1st before saying hello just so they could avoid an awkward confrontation with my boyfriend and his new found “lady”. I swear I caught one of those what-the-fuck-are-you-wearing looks on their faces too.
I think I have succumbed to the curse of comfort. I’m so comfortable with boo now I have stopped dressing up for him. I’m so comfortable with myself that I don’t even bother dressing up for myself. My hair is unruly most of the time and I kept telling myself that’s cause I’m growing it out. Truth is, I just can’t be bothered. I don’t even diet or workout like I used to. I used to be anal and extreme about how I looked and now I’m just like…fuck it give me another serving of bakkuteh.
While I try to lead you to believe that I look like this most of the time:

Casual chic.

Elegant.

Toned.

Classy.

Kawaii.

Hot.

Sporty.
This is the most unnerving thing ever for me to post. Truth is…this is how I look like most of the time:

The real me.
Help!

When you said “baggy shirt” I was thinking of an oversized shirt stolen from Mr. Boo, with shorts that you wear to watch TV at night.
It ain’t so bad. ;)

lol Well, I probably dress worse … dress for comfort I say. If you feel good, then you will have an inner glow to make you look good without the need to spend on expensive clothes etc.
Of course, I’m now going into a job that requires me to dress and look a lot better than I did in my last job. lol

i don’t know you personally so i didn’t say hi.
and sometimes i forget bloggers are real and they do frequent malls.

lol, somehow those who LOVE to dress up just need a break. i also dun bother dressing up or making up for dates with my dear, less makeup = more original skin contact. so can kiss without fretting that one patch of your makeup is gone. XD
btw great idea for the henna! will try it out if it’s not costly~

Hahaha!!! I loved this….because it so reminds me of me. :-P I used to be hip & hot, pre-baby. Now, I get mistakened for the maid on a daily basis.
If it’s any consolation, it is only the smart and confident who dare look like shit in public because they know that their brains can pull it off. Only insecure babes need to dress!! Rock on!

There are times when you just don’t feel like dressing up and everybody goes through that. You’re not alone. I read somewhere before that women tend to dress up when they are ovulating. Sometimes, I wear like that to work too :s Luckily, there’s no specific dress code for engineers like me :p
P/S: Is it just me or you look slimmer in the baggy tee & pedal pusher?

whoahh.. as for the “HOT” picture, it can be the poster for ZoukOut event! hehehehe :)
anyway, you look fine la!
there are times you need to dress nicely too. not all times, right?

Yes, the supposedly “baggy” pic IS the one which looks slimmest! (by quite a bit)
