Bubye shavers and epilator.

Remember this horrifying scene?

Caught by epilator.

I am glad to say that the above will not happen to me again. Ever.

A girl deserves not to worry so much about the world. Especially not about hair sprouting out from her armpits. I don’t even understand why we have hair there. Any explanation for armpit hair?

I do know of someone who does not have any pit hair. My paternal granny. She doesn’t ever need to shave or pluck or whatever. I’m short of asking her whether she has hair elsewhere, but I think it’s not an appropriate question to be posed to a 66 yr old. Not everyone is lucky like my granny, and regrettably I have not inherited her genes.

I’m sick of it. It doesn’t help that this getting-older-business seems to make these unwanted hairs even harder to manage. Is it just me or do you find yours growing more and coarser too? -_-

And the next thing I’m telling you…is a very significant event of my life. Hear this, I’ve gotten the buggers zapped of at Bella Skin Care.

Bella Skin Care.
Bella Skin Care.

It’s called Depilux™ Hair Free System. Basically, it disables the hair roots and prevents them from growing back. Pulsing light is transmitted via the melanin pigment in the hair down into each follicle and uses heat to disable the hair-growth mechanism. So it’s especially effective for Asians since we have darker hair.

Consultation.
During a consultation session with one of the hair removal professionals.

It’s been 3 weeks since I got my first treatment and I’m loving it. My pit hairs have gotten so fine they’re hardly visible anymore. I really can’t wait to go back for my second treatment. I’m pretty sure I’d be off the programme by the third zapping.

How about pain?

Hardly. If you’re used to plucking them buggers out, trust me it’s less painful than that. Of course, I’m only speaking from personal experience. If you have especially thick and dark hair, the sensations will bound to intensify. The best way to describe what I went through: A series of hard pinching on armpits.

How long does it take?

I was in and out of there in 15 minutes, including stripping down and getting prep-up with special cooling gel.

Stripped.
Truth is, you don’t have to strip down. I just did because I saw a robe so I went commando straight on. Don’t be a village bum like me, please.

Does it really work?

Yes! The hairs get finer after each treatment till they just vanish altogether.

Does it improve the quality of my life?

Hell yeah! Never again will I commit faux pas ala Julia Roberts.

Julia Roberts and her armpit hair.
Nice!

Worth it?

Absolutely! Think of the collective pain, money and time spent on hair removal. No more. Shaving, epilating, messy cream and painful waxing, none of those bullshit anymore. It’s now humanly possible to just throw on a sleeveless dress and walk out of your house, worry free.

Feel free to ask any question in the comment section, I’ll try to answer the best I can.

Now excuse me while I book for my second appointment :)

I have completed the full course (5 sessions + 1 year touch ups) for full legs and I have 2 more touch up sessions to go for my underarms :) It worked very well for me. It cost me a bomb but I think it’s money well spent lah because I don’t even need to do any maintenance now :D Bella Skin Care is a good choice, Kim :) You will get used to that pinching sensation after a while.

  9. Rachel Says:

I second Reta’s idea! go do some brazilian wax and put on your bikini! =) There we can go to Zazu on Wednesday night! lol… no fear for too much hair ;P

  10. Elle Ashley Says:

personally i don’t mind body hair… i think julia roberts looks fine and good on her for choosing not to shave…

There’s 2 theories about the purpose of armpit hair - one is that it lessens friction and abrasion and the other is that it’s purpose is to trap the phermones released by bodies - phermones are the smell that attract 2 people to each other. So perhaps historically, those with armpit hair smelled better / stronger to the opposite sex so bred more than hairless people and that’s why most people have armpit hair nowadays.

    Just theoretical :)

o0 taking the Michael Jackson route to hair freedom!

  14. naeboo Says:

i asked my grandma why she doesnt have armpit hair a few years back(thinking she might be one of the few DAMN LUCKY ppl like my cousin and thhis gf who doesnt have pithair.. and yes they do have other hair down there heheheeh i asked them both).

she said she used to have tonnes just that once u aged enuf, ur hair just drop off.i think women get thinning hair at diff areas. hahahaa

pubic hair are meant to trap sweat and pheromones so those will be concentrated and the smell will be emitted to the opposite sex and attract them. now so many ppl take off bcoz of current fashion and we wonder why more and more single ppl everywhere…..

but canot discount completely lar since a lot of ppl so hairless now but stupid=so unattractive.

i personally dont like any kind of pube hairs on myself. killkillkilllllllll

did u try strip in bangsar? :P

  15. naeboo Says:

*hairless now or not doesnt matter but stupid=so unattractive

  16. Huai Bin Says:

I have only learned about the epilator when one of my girlfriends used it on my pubic hair. It was very uncomfortable, to say the least. I do not recommend it to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

  17. kat Says:

I think we all want to know how much it costs. I’m thinking whether it will be better long-term for other specific areas of my bod ;)

  18. th_c Says:

They quoted me RM2799 for the same package 2 weeks ago. Wondering if you get a better offer.

  19. Kimberlycun Says:

    hi all!

I was right! i’m not the only one suffering! sorry for the late reply, was busy working and also sewing costume for nuffnang wild live party…hehehe.

Okay, my first session is the trial version which cost RM258 for both underarms. But I’ve also taken up the promo programme which is RM2999 for 5 sessions + 5 touch ups, cause i want em buggers forever banished from my life. The promo programme was quoted based on my hair texture and body part (underarms) so i think you should go for a consultation and the price may be slightly higher or lower depending on your needs and genetics….hehe.

On other note, I’ve only waxed my legs before..will never go for brazillian or even touch any hair down there!

As for safety, I’ve done it already and still am alive hehe.

    and huai bin, OMG OUCH!!!!!!!!!
