i wantz the nokia e75

went to the launch of nokia e75 last night at saffron, solaris. wow the food was really good. it’s not often that you want to sample everything from the buffet line, you know.

i really like the e75. it’s got a full qwerty keyboard AND an ordinary keypad! like the legendary nokia communicator but way slimmer and sleeker! the reason why i had stayed away from the e series is because of the integrated keypad/qwerty which my abnormally proportioned hands can’t handle.

nokia e75

the phone seemed fast and responsive, a far cry from the sluggish n96. and the camera was pretty decent too as the button was easy to press hence it helps to reduce a lot of shake.

the phone has the built-in latest Nokia Messaging Service which supports most 3rd party emails like gmail, yahoo, ovimail, hotmail and many more. push mail ftw but not too sure on the battery life of the phone.

my nokia n82 is still going strong and it’s the love of my life. but this e75 is really tempting. RM1950…can or cannot?

good food feeds the soul too

i notice that i’d be in an incredibly good mood at work after a nice lunch. i suppose sometimes you have the break the monotony of the RM4 chap fun.

a while ago, we were in bangsar checking out the roadshow venue so we decided to hop over to chun heong for lunch. the place was super packed. paul teh recommended the duck thigh noodle for me. it was damn good, i’d definitely go back again. perfectly braised duck meat that falls of the bone in a nice mildly herbal tasting soup.

paul teh on the other hand had the 3 sausages noodle which was supposedly really good too. i tried the soup and it’s really aromatic. no hint of msg enhanced flavour to it.

as we had time to spare, we also stopped for some strudels. i had the classic apple and he opted for a blueberry one.

a couple of days later, me and the ladies of the office went to Aman Suria for the best char siew in the world. yes, i’ve converted them. if you saw a bunch of people in blue shirts at famous seremban favourites, yes those people are us.

on the day i had my accident, there was a kfc smacked right next to the kota damansara police station. too lazy to go somewhere else, we decided on just having our lunch there. they have a new addition to their menu called “flava roast”.

i didn’t really have much faith in it but i wanted to try the jacket potato. as it turned out, the flava roast chicken steak was pretty decent…better than the bbq chicken place even! the size of the chicken steak was quite small when compared to the picture on the menu, but with the coleslaw and jacket potato it made a substantial meal. and, the jacket potato was actually good!

having a bad day at work? pls treat yourself at lunch.

p/s: i’ve filed my taxes. wow it’s crazy easy with this e-filing! so easy i wasn’t sure if i had really done it. wtf. thanks suan and st for helping out!

tax, shopping and irresponsible dog owners

i’m trying to do this tax thingy and i’ve never been so baffled before. thank goodness for the suan and ky in answering my n00b questions. seriously, wtf is this…how do people do it? filing tax is fucking shit.

am nursing a cold with loads of lemsip. it’s the best thing ever. panadol soluble? bah. we bought loads of lemsip on our last trip to uk. i wonder when we’re going to have them here. lemsip is the shiznit.

my cosmetic stash bought from strawberrynet has arrived safely. i’m quite impressed with the way they had packed the stuff. each item was meticulously wrapped with silver coloured paper or bubblewrap and then placed in a box stuffed with styrofoam.

anyway, i’ve been following this forum thread about a puppy owner seeking donation of RM1500 for CAT scan for her sick 3 month old puppy. seemed like a legitimate case until it was revealed how irresponsible the owner is and how the pet store owners (who sold her the puppy in the first place) themselves have taken to task to care for the poor puppy instead (kudos to the folks at Fluff Pet Store in NZX). all because the owner claims she and her family members have no money. wtf, no money why get a puppy? stories of irresponsible pet owners get me really fucking angry. if you can’t afford it don’t get em. they’re not toys that you can chuck and dispose when you’re bored or when they’re sick. caring for a dog takes up a lot of money, time and patience if you’re lacking of any of those just don’t fucking bother ok.

now, back to figuring out this income tax thing -__-

how far would you go for good health?

following my last episode with severe menstrual cramps, i decided to start taking care of my health by consuming bak foong pills, a traditional chinese medicine used for regulating menstrual symptoms. they’re supposed to make my womb strong and healthy.

i got my supply from eu-yan sang, a leading chinese traditional healthcare company in malaysia. i’m supposed to take a bottle of this on a weekly basis. i can’t really tell whether it’s working but i’ll know when my next period arrives.

anyway, this morning, in a mood for some light reading i decided to check out the ingredients of the bak foong pills. check em out:

semen and faeces

okay, at first i thought they were just some tragically spelt words but imagine my surprise when google revealed that Faeces Trogopterori are indeed poop. rat’s poop. flying rat’s poop to be specific.

at this point, i wasn’t so sure about googling for Semen Sesami Nigrum. click the link if you want to find out what’s google’s explanation for Semen Sesami Nigrum.

well, i’m not going to stop taking my bak foong pills, they did cost me about RM90 for 6 miserable bottles. so how far would you go for good health? chugging your own urine, anyone?

DIY nail art tutorial

love the weekends. finally some time to pamper myself. i got my lashes done yesterday, and this morning with charlie lying calmly at my feet, i even got a manicure done. i’m so productive :)

since i’m at it, i might as well post a tutorial on how i did it. you need a clear nail polish, a coloured nail polish (mine is blue), a glitter nail polish (mine is gold glitter) and nail design stickers! i’ve had the stickers for the longest time and totally forgot about them. glad i stumbled upon them while searching for my manicure kit.

#1 – what you need: clear polish, coloured polish, glittered polish and nail art stickers.
nail polish

of course, before any paint job, it’s good to shape your nails into the desired shape, buff em up and get rid of the cuticles. they will ultimately make your nails look much better. that said, i’m just too lazy :P

#2 – first, paint your nails with the clear polish.
clear polish

#3 – then, paint french tips over your nails with the blue polish.
blue polish

takes some practice to get every tip at similar width but you can cheat with the french tip stickers. might also get a little messy at this point, but be patient and wait till it’s all done and dry before you get rid of the excess nail polish.

#4 – now wait for your polish to completely dry before you handle the stickers. 45 minutes to 1 hour is the safest bet for cheap nail polish :D
stickers

#5 – it’s better to use a tweezer to lift the stickers up cause you may chip your nail polish doing it with your finger nails. now stick them on your nails, like this.

#6 – then, apply a little glitter polish over the empty area of your nail design, like this.
glitter.

lastly, finish it off with a good layer of clear polish to seal off your design.

#7 – and voila, DIY nail art!
DIY nail art.

cost almost nothing. all you need is time and a wee bit of patience.

ladies, do you prefer your manicure DIY or done by a manicurist?

oh, and this picture is in response to ky’s comment. i is pr0 ok!

i told you so

i hate “i told you so” moments. specifically, whenever i have to say it. i don’t like saying it. saying it makes me feel superior. i don’t like feeling superior than people that i want to respect. cause saying it makes me lose respect for them. and then, i don’t know.
