Just finished having lunch with The Suan, blogging from her office now.

Trying to get some work done too. Needed to see some human faces, it does get a little lonely working alone. Which is why I’m here now :D

My detox week has been pretty messed up, tbh. I guess I haven’t psyched myself up enough before embarking on this journey. Maybe I got too ambitious about eliminating all the carbs. I could feel Juvanex working though, the inside of my mouth taste metallic and I’ve got pimples popping out on my face (it’s not even the time of the month). My poop are hehehe, you don’t wanna know. But, this blog may give you a rough idea…

Tomorrow, another day :P

Yesterday was a mega failure. Was fine till about 4pm, then I finished a whole bag of Pepperidge Farm soft-baked cookies and Maggi kari. Then at 11.30pm, I had a McD porridge and ayam goreng -_-.

+++++++++++

I just had my first glass of Juvanex for the day. I will try to be a good girl today.

Remember the movie from the 90s, Multiplicity with Michael Keaton? I wish I could multiply like that.

An unhealthy obsession with Vanna White. Thank gawd for YouTube.

Saturday - The Day

10 May 2008 - World Lupus Day.

World Lupus Day @ 1 Utama, 1st Floor Oval.

The event that ShutterAsia has been trying very hard to put together for more than a month finally happened with tremendous success. The Minister of Health, YB Dato’ Liow Tiong Lai officiated the launch and was a good sport throughout the event.

Getting this event up was a tough journey indeed, and must be especially so for Freaky (otherwise known as James) whom may I say, single handedly made this happen with little or no help at all. I would like to thank Freaky for roping me in and I’m proud to say that it’s an honour to have worked alongside him. While I escaped to party with Tiesto, he stuck on till 10pm to make sure the event ran smoothly till 1 Utama closed. James, I <3 you!

James @ Freaky.James @ Freaky, emcee for the day.

I would like to thank Nikon and 1 Utama for being such generous sponsors as well. When I heard from someone who spoke to the Nikon big man, and he revealed that for this event, he doesn’t even care about any newspaper or media coverage. He just wants Nikon to contribute to the photography community and society in general. He knew for a fact that ShutterAsia ran this event with no monetary support whatsoever, everything from the venue to exhibition stands to carpeting to sound system to the balloons….were contributed by companies that supply them. That’s not just it, some of the people from these sponsor companies even got down and dirty helping with the event setup. It was truly an eye-opening experience for me.

1 Utama (thank you Ms. Joey C.) said yes to my request for venue sponsorship within hours of my FIRST email without even batting an eyelid. To be honest, before approaching 1 Utama, I had sent several request to other smaller shopping complexes, most did not reply (as expected) and one even sent back to ask for ROI Report (I was flabbergasted). But 1 Utama, which was my last resort…..because it’s such a successful shopping complex and was very intimidating, said yes to us within hours!

They were also very accommodating to us eventhough the exhibition could not be set up extravagantly in line with the interior of 1 Utama due to budget constraint, but they allowed us to hold our event anyway with nothing but genuine support. You may not know this too, but 1 Utama is probably the only shopping complex in Malaysia with space (it’s called Community Corner on 1st Floor Oval, New Wing) allocated for non-profit organisations that are struggling to afford any space for their charity events.

Anything Butterfly Photography Exhibition is still on-going till 18th May 2008. Persatuan SLE Malaysia will be there selling homemade craft and accepting donations. 1 Utama, 1st Floor Oval, New Wing :)

Satuday - Night

After the event, I reached home at 5pm, showered and made my way to KY’s house. We all had dinner (or rather, I joined them while they were already eating) and then started our journey to PD. I was mostly unconscious during the journey but I managed to wake up during a toilet stop and took a picture of this car with something from the bathroom on the side mirror.

Bathroom/Side mirror.Recycle, reduce, reuse.

We reached Admiral Marina about 10.30pm parked not too far from the event venue. The queues were gawdamn long -_- and it was so humid. I was soaked by the time we entered party grounds.

Queing up for Tiesto. Can you spot PinkPau’s setan face?

Without further ado, the faggots (our endearing nickname for each other) got a carton of beer to jump-start party mood. And then another carton…

Beer.
Beer.

I took 1/2 a can and promptly passed out. I would like to defend myself that under normal circumstances I could have consumed 1 can with no problems but I was already exhausted from work.

Here is a picture of Spongefox sipping his beer.

I puked several times into the empty plastic bag that had contained the beer before I was well enough to walk nearer to stage. I managed to catch a glimpse of Tiesto making his grand debut before passing out again. The last song I remembered hearing before my slumber was In The Dark (which I f-king love).

Tiesto
TIESTO!

Then I woke up to some random stuff I’ve never heard before but were still f-king awesome. I was almost well again and I danced and danced and danced…

Tiesto Elements of Life

Sweaty Kim.

Kim and KY.

Kim & Eyeris

And then Love Comes Again came on. I was estatic!!!

Love Comes Again - Tiesto.
You gotta believe that…Love comes again

From then on, it was orgasm all the way, man.

The man.
TIESTO!

Crowd.
Crowd was just loving every second.

The finale was amazing. Forever Today came on along with fireworks and confetti!

Forever Today.
Forever Today

We left party ground at 3am and made our way home. Thank you to the Suan for driving us all back safely to Ming Tien for supper.

Every time after a rave party, I’d always claim it’d be my last but man, as long as Tiesto is playing my last rave party is not yet in sight.

Sunday

I woke up at 3.30pm on Mother’s Day. Mom was very understanding not to have woken us up, since we stumbled into the house at 6.30am. We went to Pearl International Hotel for buffet, which was fabulous (KY blogged about it here). They had an array of activities lined up for Mom’s Day that I didn’t even know about when I made reservation. They took our family picture and printed it out, had a good lucky draw with trips to various destinations as prizes and yummy goodies to take home. Mom was very happy :)

Then, I taught her to blog and use Flickr!!!!! :D She’s just posted her first entry after about an hour of frustration (heh heh heh) and I hope she didn’t get turned off by the complexity (obviously to me it’s like clockwork). I’ll definitely pimp her blog when she hits her 5th entry. So dearest, please leave some words of encouragement here because she doesn’t believe it when I say a lot of people would love to read her blog!

You want to, don’t you?? (p/s: the momsie is a hottie).

Errr sorry I can’t stop gloating about my Eee PC :)

It is so light, totally unbelievable! I was chatting on MSN at my apartment carpark (still within my wifi area), one hand holding laptop and the other hand typing……standing up, ok.

Check out the comparison…

Eee PC vs Lenovo
Eee PC vs Lenovo. Pretty amazing, no?

So I had a panic attack just before the event. 4 out of 5 laptops ordered for the event didn’t work properly, girls haven’t arrived, one of the two big screens for the football matches was a little whacky, venue management tried to change my tray serving to buffet line etc etc etc.

I got home to freshen up after setup and I just couldn’t put on my makeup properly and then I put on so much I looked like a panda then I couldn’t find my phone and some documents and I was so sure I would forget to bring something. Basically I was just running around the apartment trying to fix some imaginary problems and I was hyperventilating while doing so. And I sweat so much my makeup ran I when I saw myself in the mirror, I burst out crying and I felt like the sky was going to fall on top of me. Hahaha.

Anyway, I redo my makeup while still hyperventilating and my pimples seemed abnormally larger than normal and I started crying again. And then makeup ran again, I had to redo my makeup while time was ticking away.

Finally, I reached the venue and found my supplier (and friend, Mike from Xpert Events. Please contact him for your events, he’s the best!) had brought in the replacement laptops and my client was just happily testing them. No one even noticed that I was late due to my panic attack episode heh.

Anyway, everything went so well. My emcee for the night, Liang was absolutely a riot! He’s amazing to work with, very professional, accommodating and best of all, he got the crowd going! :)

So during the half time of Birmingham vs Liverpool, my client asked me to go to the stage to assist the Regional Manager with his speech, so I went lah. And then I was waiting there and the r. manager went up to talk and then suddenly he started to express thank and gratitude for people who’ve made the event a success and then he called me up the stage.

I was like, alamak ok..didn’t see it coming. And then I saw him holding a box and I still didn’t register it cause I’m shortsighted remember? And then, I saw it, the words Asus Eee PC. I screamed, “OH MY GOD YOU GAVE ME AN EEE PC!!!!”. You can try for yourself, trust me it’s very high pitch heh.

Me getting an Eee PC.
Hehehe, omg look at my jawline. So tensed from grinning too long and hard hahaha. Picture from Mike Yip.

I did not suspect anything. It was a real surprise. I almost cried on stage but held my tears back. And I’ve never been properly surprised in my life. It felt really good :)

It’s a gift of something I secretly wanted for quite sometime and in the colour I wanted. My client even took the liberty to jack up the ram to 1gig. Don’t I have the best client in the world, you tell me? :)

All I did was debating about how an Eee PC would have pwn his Mac Book Air (which honestly, is really one of the most amazing stuff I’ve seen!) and he thoughtfully got me one!

:)
Happy camper. Picture from Mike Yip.

Thanks everyone from Lasseters especially the director, you know who you are la!

:)

Malaysian Dreamgirl, honestly…

April 8th, 2008 Kimberlycun Posted in Personal, Picture Galore, Reviews 31 Comments » 469 views

It’s pretty addictive to watch. This is the competition I had wanted to join earlier but decided against it due to work commitments. Now I’m thanking my lucky star that I didn’t join. Cause seriously, I don’t think I’ll be able to bear with all these petty things that are going on in the house, which I suspect would lead to a profanity fest if I were there.

(Of course I’d would have gotten in lah…I’m so awesome mah *cough*)

I applaud the ladies for being able to keep their cool in spite of some downright stupid incidents…the tomato robbery for one. Hey hey Nadia…there’s really no need for such language. Cindy may have a fake accent sometimes but sending your regards to someone’s mother over some cheap-ass fruits sure tells a lot about your attitude.

To be honest, my favourite contestant was Valerie. I really love her spunky personality and she came across as really genuine. I was sad when she left but I figured she’s probably better off. I mean lets face it, Valerie is no model material. She has an enviable body, yes, but she’s not a clotheshorse. I’m pretty sure she’ll make an awesome TV presenter, even an actress.

Without further ado, lets check out the other girls one by one…

1. ADELINE

Adeline

Girl has to work her angles better. In this latest photo, she looks like she has thyroid problems -_-.

Why didn’t she use her long neckline? The frontal face shot obviously doesn’t flatter her and I hope she realises this. “Pau Face” to the max. She’s a pretty girl but it does not translate very well on pictures. She easily looks like an average chinese girl albeit with better makeup on.

As for her English…alamak, cannot make it. When I listened to her praising her hair spa treatment in the latest episode, “Hi I’m Adeline, thank you for the Wella System Professionals to do my hair dance (what?). And I feel relaxing, I feel good. Thank you”. Think about the wrinkles I got from all those cringing, man.

2. CINDY

Cindy

Whenever her father calls, hilarity ensues. I love it that she just complains, complains and schemes with her daddy while the other girls would burst out crying upon hearing the voices of their loved ones. Now that’s a competitor!

Modelling wise, I think she’s the weakest in the group right now. She seems to have a pre-conceived perception of what modelling is and is blindly living it. She poses well but can’t hold them long enough for the photographer to capture it. I think the girl has to relax a bit. Oh yes, her chin up pose also really cannot make it, she looks like she’s got a severe case of underbite whenever she does that. It’s not sexy, Cindy!

Cindy certainly spices up the show with her crocodile tears and random fake accents. To be honest, I think the Ah Lian of the show is really Cindy. Indoo poh and malai poh…ring any bell? ROTFLOLOLOL. She’s gotten quieter though, which is a damn waste I feel. Perhaps it’s the dawn of a different biatch?

3. FIQA

Fiqa

Fiqa is my favourite girl! When they chopped of her hair, I thought that it’d be the end of her. Instead, she manages to outshine her asymmetrical hair. Her long elegant limbs and athletic body are to die for.

So far we have seen her do sexy, manly, flirty and futuristic and she has nailed all her pictures. In fact, she looks like a different person, a professional model, in the Wella shot. Talk about versatility.

I like her demeanour as well, soft spoken but firm. Comes across as very intelligent as well.

4. HANIS

Hanis

The baby of the house and she embraces it. I’d imagine a girl of her age would probably try even harder to fit in, but yet Hanis takes everything in stride and at her own pace. Without all the princess-sy behaviour. It’s really an admirable trait.

Hanis pictures are made up of hits and misses. Probably something to do with her angular face. When she poses straight on, she looks quite bad, but with her face slightly tilted, wah she blows me away.

5. JAY

Jay

Jay is my high-school senior. I still remember competing with her and her friends in a talent show back in 1997. Two friends and I sang and danced to 911’s You Got My Body Shakin’ (omg cringe time) and she and her friends did a Spice Girls number. By the way, my group won the competition, lol. Don’t play play.

Anyway, Jay has always been a striking figure, even back in high school. I think now with all the baby fat gone, she’s looking even more stunning. I saw her on the Female magazine cover and was filled with pride that someone from my school has made it :)

In this competition though, Jay seems rather safe. Aside from the Putrajaya shot (which was damn impressive), the rest of her pictures are quite forgettable.

I like the Wella picture, but I wish her lips were closed instead of parted. Her beautiful pearlies have taken attention away from her hair.

5. NADIA

Nadia

The epitome of hotness. All the guys I spoke too would want to do things with Nadia. Things too provocative to be posted here. I can’t help but agree with them. The eyes, the luscious lips and that body.

She reminds me of Tengku Azura. I think Nadia will get constant jobs in modelling but whether she will rise to become one of the it-models is a question mark.

On a side note, I heard that’s she slowly rising to be the biatch of the house though…any insider tip on this?

6. RINGO

Ringo

Ringo is one of the most beautiful and striking girls on the blogosphere. But in the competition, she seems to have been overshadowed by the rest. I believe it has something to do with her petite physique and lack-lustre pictures.

I think Ringo is holding herself back in this competition, I really believe she could do better. She has tonnes of better pictures taken prior to this contest and for the life of me I can’t figure out why she can’t reproduce the same effect now.

As it’s a popularity contest, I’m pretty sure Ringo would have no trouble garnering votes. But I’d love to see Ringo performs her magic and take our breath away with her pictures again.

7. KIMBERLYCUN

Kimberlycun

Champion to the max. Far out, with her willy wonka shorts and bf’s tee shirt, Kimberlycun deserves the Nissan Latio!
