This is me with the banshee exorcised….

The last time I cut my hair was 6 months ago and I loved every minute of it. Till it grew to my shoulders and not even my powerful blow dryer could fix the banshee look.

This afternoon (which, not coincidentally is the 1st day I got my car back after the boyfriend spent weeks using mine because he was fiddling with his own car) I went back to the same stylist, Alvin to get my hair done.

I love Alvin, I trust him with all my heart and soul. He gave me the same cut albeit with a slight change at the back to allow it to grow out more evenly.

I honestly don’t know what colour, because I left the decision to Alvin. I’m guessing it’s hurm, chocolate?

You know, the recent fake water cut has really messed up my cooking mojo. So I’m taking the break as an opportunity to give the kitchen a bit of a thorough cleaning before stocking in fresh groceries. Hopefully cooking posts shall commence soon!!!

Bought the dress while walking mindlessly in Nichii. I’ve been shopping there since they were just a little shoplot in Sungai Besi and despite its maligned reputation (Ah Lian, cheap etc) I still find a lot of my favourite clothings from there! Probably cause I’m an unapologetic Ah Lian teeheehee.

Honestly, I do prefer longer hair but I was shedding like crazy and basically, I just got really tired of worrying about waking up with a bald patch.

My hair better stop falling now because I’d be really pissed off if I had chopped all that off for nothing :P

That said, this is a nice change and I guess it means I’ve grown up a little since I have absolutely no qualms about looking like a pre-pubescent eleven year old. Boy. With bowl hair. Teeheehee.

# – I am steaming hot.

I really admire girls who take time to apply makeup and style their hair everyday, it’s so much work!!! I wish I were half as disciplined so that I don’t need to look like I just ran into a dirty wall everyday.

Set camera on timer. Kept praying the lift doors won’t open cause I would actually die of embarrassment :P

Wearing my RM18 top I got last weekend from Sunway Pyramid and my 3 year old high waisted trousers from Nichii. Caged heels are from a shop called Elements in 1U. I’ve got another pair in grey too.

Yeah, I might as well call this post, “Kimberly’s discounted clothes”.

Hungry max now (of course I had to starve myself for the shoot la!). Where’s the man aka “bearer of dinner” when you need him?

# – Natural nose. It’s bigger than my lips for fuck’s sake!

# – Pinched nose. See what I mean? Even my head looks slimmer with a slimmer nose.

Truth be told, I’ll never in my life ever be able to attain even 1/4 of her presence. For one I need to have a personal tailor, grow 3 inches taller and get a nose job while at it.

But who says I can’t try to dress like her? Even if it means putting together random pieces I managed to fish out from my messy pile of clothes.

# – Striped collared tee (from Nichii), big belt (inherited from Mom), and tailored trousers (inherited from Mom).

All I need is a slick of red lipstick and a cancer stick to complete the look.

Who is your fashion icon?

I bought this top quite a while ago. I can’t even remember where I got it. It’s got fringes at the front which reminded me of a flapper dress. It’s basically a two layered tee, see through lace on the outside and grey jersey material on the inside.

# – The flapper dress inspired t-shirt.

It’s quite really cute but I’ve only ever worn it once. Reason is because of the back. It made me looked like I had a large shapeless back. Maybe it’s the cutting or maybe a big piece of lace on top of cotton just isn’t that flattering.

# – The back of the top. I wish it had the same fringes as the front of the top.

So I decided to do something to make it more palatable. All I needed was a pair of good tailor’s scissors :D

# – First, I turned the tee inside out and folded it down the middle, making sure the lacey bit was out of the way.

# – Then, carefully I started cutting straight lines across the tee.

# – After the cutting process was done, simply twist every line of fabric.

# – This is the results of twisting the cut fabrics so they won’t look so flat.

# – Turn t-shirt back to how it’s supposed to originally and this is how it looks like now.

Doesn’t look that interesting yet but wait till I wear it….

# – Looks just like before.

# – But when I turn around, it’s a completely new top!

# – Damn, need to clean the mirror :P

It’s so much more interesting now and I’m glad I can wear it more regularly now ;) Pretty sure you can do the same with old t-shirts you’ve got. Now let me go find more old t-shirts to cut!!!

Since, my nails have been left unattended for weeks and they’re now stubby and unkempt :(

Today, I couldn’t stand any longer looking at my ugly nails so I decided to do-it-yourself. Felt like back in college, where I used to DIY my own manicures courtesy of student budget. I used to rock cheap, long, plastic nails at school so much so that I was asked (read: forced) to cut them off on the spot for a netball game, FML.

This is how my nails look like now.

# – DIY manicure ftw.

I opt for this design because it’s foolproof, and mistake-friendly. I shall call this the Lavender Bling :P

# – Lavender coloured polish, pink glitter polish and silver glitter polish. I love this DHC brand from a stall at The Curve (near Royal Selangor Pewter and Nokia). They’re very reasonably priced and dry up nicely.

# – After applying base polish, apply the lavender polish. It’s very sheer and just gives off a slightly pastel purplish sheen.

# – Next, apply the silver glitter polish at bottom half of the nails.

# – Then, apply the pink glitter polish at the upper half of your nails. At this point, the colours will look abit flat.

# – Lastly, apply silver glitter polish over the pink glitter polish to create a gradient and more 3D effect.

# – Voila, Lavender Bling!

# – Am very pleased with the results. Saved at least RM60 for this manicure :D

Happy cause I don’t have to walk around with banshee nails now.

These are my healthy ingredients.

I will be surviving on juice made up of maple syrup, lemon juice and paprika for 5 days. Don’t ask me for recipe because I don’t want to recommend anything before I come out alive and unscathed from this experiment. Spare me the lectures on how unhealthy it is to detox without solid foods as I’ve done my research and I feel comfortable in doing this. I’ve come to realise that my diet is high in salt and fat content so hopefully this detox can trick my body into not craving for salty, fatty foods.

As for the apple cider vinegar, I’ve been using it as a final rinse for my shower. I think it’s really helping with my skin because they are healing very well. Now this, I can recommend :) If you have eczema, mix 1 part vinegar and 10 parts water together and just pour it all over your affected areas. I do lightly rinse it off with water before I step out of the shower but if you’re hardcore you could just leave it on and dab off the excess liquid with a towel.
