My Dream in the Year of the Tiger

I asked a friend, “What would be your dream in the year of the Tiger?”

Without hesitation, he answered,”I want to have so much money that I don’t have to go to work and all I can do is drink Tiger beer. Pass out. Wake up to drink Tiger beer. Pass out. Wake up again to drink Tiger beer. Pass Out. Over and over again….”.

His eyes, glistening with bliss when he oh so enthusiastically revealed his dream to me. Well, sorry to break it you mate, that is not going to happen.

What’s really going to happen though; while not as good as his dream, it does come a close second.

Tiger Beer, the official beer for the Year of the Tiger is organising a run on the 6th of February 2010 at Bar Madrid (Jaya One) to find three fastest people and they will help them materialise their dreams worth RM8888 each.

Yes, you read it correct…a run – where your pins will be making swift motions causing your body to propel forward. Of course, without a nanosecond of doubt, I intend to be one of the lucky trio. In fact, I aim to be the FIRST to cross the line at The Tiger Run so that my RM8888 wishes can be topped up with an additional RM1888!

There will only be 88 runners allowed to compete though because an unidentified fengshui master dictated such, so I’m hoping this blog entry will help me get selected to participate in the auspicious run.

You, you and you who are planning on snatching away my chance at winning RM8888 worth of dreams can make your futile attempts as I am a fair woman so please try to beat me by writing a blog entry entitled “My Dream in the Year of the Tiger” and submit the permalink and your full name to fulfillmywish.tiger@nuffnang.com.

You should also check out the Tiger Beer facebook page for a lot more juicy details and information that might just help you score a place in the marathon. May the best person win!

I will wrestle the RM8888 out of your feeble hands.

And since I’m at it, let me list out what my RM8,888 worth of dreams are….

1. I’ve been itching to learn sewing since the beginning of last year. Don’t ask me how I got bitten by the bug as back in high school, it took me 2 hours on two different sewing machines (one electronic and one manual) just to sew one effing line across a piece of fabric. Sadly, all I got was A for effort and a very flabbergasted teacher. Perhaps it’s too much of watching Project Runway but I suspect it’s also due to my difficulty in finding good quality clothing with proper cutting for a REAL woman’s body. Such as I….

So with RM8,888 worth of dreams to spare, one of it would be a sewing machine. And not just any sewing machine, I want a Bernina! One Bernina Activa 220 would set me back about USD1200. That’s a little more than RM4000. RM4000 for a piece of heaven that I will probably never learn to use properly hehe.

My 1st dream for Year of the Tiger – Bernina Activa 220.

2. With 4,888 left what else can I get? Oh, I want a Blackberry Bold 2 nao. Like nao. NAO. Believe it’s retailing for about RM2300. I’m in desperate need for a good email management application and my current phone is not providing that. I’d never realised how important push mail and email threads are until I got involved with a dozen people who just love, and I mean LOVE communicating via emails. I’m talking about emails coming into my inbox amounting into the hundreds per day.

Trust me, it’s no fun downloading 50-80 emails at a time. So give me a Blackberry Bold 2 nao, please Tiger Beer!

My 2nd dream for Year of the Tiger – Blackberry Bold 2.

3. Woohoo, I would be now left with RM2588 dream credit. What would I want to do with them? Something I’ve always wanted, I want to bring my mummy to Bangkok and shop!!!! Flight and accommodation should be around RM 1500 and another RM1088 for a shopping spree.

Can you imagine how much stuff we could get for RM1088 at Chatuchak? Oh my lard, just the thought of it is giving me a proverbial orgasm!

My 3rd dream for Year of the Tiger – Flight tickets to Bangkok and a shopping spree.

And there, my three dreams worth RM8888 that will make me a very, very happy girl.

4. This is a bonus dream. What if, just what if I were the fastest runner and won the extra RM1888 worth of dreams too???? Well, in that case I’m just going to throw a free-flow Tiger Beer party for my dearest friends and family.

I can’t think of better dreams for myself in the Year of the Tiger :)

Malam Tumpang Glamour

This post is a bit overdue but better late than never! Malam Tumpang Glamour (MTG) was organised by Reta, Elfie and Mike because parties do not have to be expensive to be fun. Their motto is: cheapass but kickass.

I can’t agree more. I always feel out of place at posh pretentious parties. And I almost never really enjoyed myself. I guess I’m just not that kind of person. I’m too loud when drunk, and too crass when sober. On that note, my wedding is going to be mad fun with loads of pork and booze. Just sayin’…

#1 – Always thought I’d make a good looking pirate. With Reta.

#2 – Inked Tattoo Studio. No drunken tattooing took place.

Held at Inked, the theme for the night was Misai hence I wore a plastic rapist’s moustache that I got from Daiso. That’s the only kind they were selling and it was quite uncomfortable. Skin couldn’t breathe, so I discarded it not long after.

#3 – emoCharlie lapping up all the attention.

So anyway, MTG really did kickass. It’s not only cheap, but all proceeds (nominal entrance fee of RM1) go to its favourite charity which is Furry Friends Farm. Great music on great sound system (thanks Hi-Volt) by the average men/women who think they are better than professional djs and fortunately, they are. Free booze by Tiger Beer. Got lucky draw for some awesome goodies somemore. And of course, it’s pet-friendly! Thank you MTG for giving me the opportunity to party with emoCharlie for the very first time!

#4 – Lucky draw. Spot Michael.

#5 – Suan, KY and Kura-kura chilling at the staircase.

#6 – Ah Horng and Elfie.

#7 – Ladies on the pool table. Most right pair of feet belongs to me btw.

Everyone had so much fun. I did too, although it was a little short-lived :P

#8 – I fell asleep with emoCharlie keeping an eye on me.

#9 – Guess the song.

Can’t remember much after that, a lil bit about wobbling down the stairs, vomit shooting through my nostrils etc.

Last picture:

#10 – Caption this.

We need more MTGs!
