*Senang-senang dahulu, susah-susah kemudian?

Yeah so road tax’s down. Yeah like that annual RM100 would make any difference. Like that would ease any burden. What about bigger cars? This is just screaming reverse discrimination.

How about making cars cheaper so that people could actually afford a damn Kancil than driving some rusty antique that stall every other day or hover around on a two wheeled death wish? Seriously, I think that lowering the price of 0-1000c.c vehicles is way, way, way much better than having the discounted road tax as the amount saved from the cheaper road tax is downright negligible.

Giving the government a benefit of the doubt, just maybe, this is a sign of good things to come. But I’m rather sceptical. How would I not? No toll raise for this year and next year? Call me a cynic, but I just can’t help but feel that the government has struck some dodgy “you win-i win” deal with the highway concessionaires.

A friend in finance industry requested me to do a survey. One of the questions asked was, “Are you fully prepared should fuel subsidies were to be completely removed in 2007?”. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s going to be quite tough 2 years from now.

Heh. The tax system for cars. Thanks a lot to “we are protecting the national car” whatevershit. A Waja’s price is *so* not worth it compared to its quality.

    And

I do heard a few rumours about the petrol price that gonna hike up to RM2++ or higher, but when I don’t know.

It’s time to opt for scooters or kapcais people! Like me! Motorcyclist on weekdays, a speed-demon-biker on weekends XD

Yeah! i must agree!! Malaysian government is just a big rip off on its people. The Proton cars are seriously overcharged for screwed up quality they offered. Wanna make more income? Improve quality lar! But no they abuse their powers through the government and CHARGED the people billions for a cheap milo tin made car!

Worst thing is that, they thought that the people are fucking retards for giving in crap like that! Maybe we would have if we are monkeys, no that’s an insult to the monkeys, maybe we would have if we are vegetables

actually, a rusty antique japanese car is far sturdier than a brand new proton or kancil.

the japs are big on quality, whereas we here locally….

I agree with lynee. I still have my dad’s old Toyota Corolla XL 80’s which is still running well though it needs few new parts coz sudah tua already.

My mum bought a Wira Aeroback 2 years ago.
5-7 months old : right signal light came off, replaced
1 year : left signal came off, replaced
1.3 years : brake pads “botak” already, changed
1.7 years : front dual speakers emits too much treble and then not working at all, still not repaired.
and recently : radiator not working due to one of it’s faulty fan and motor. Changed and was charged near to RM500 if I’m not wrong.

I do heard that the quality of Proton cars outside Malaysia say in UK are at better quality compared to Malaysian production. Wtf.

asyraf: i never encouraged people to go on two wheels though. just too dangerous.

nebO: i don’t know it’s because we can’t do anything about it or people are seriously contented with the status quo. coz yeah, if i get to vote, i’d vote for balance man. balance is the answer, man..heh

    kim: thanks babe!

lynee: yes, if they’re well-maintained. one of the main causes of traffic jam in KL is due to old cars stalling. besides that, since they don’t always get serviced or maintained (no brake lights, bad brakes etc), they cause accidents too.

asyraf: yeah. another testimonial to the quality of proton cars.

Yeah it’s back to front, most places export quality is inferior to the stuff they keep for themselves..

Here it’s the other way round, yeah I can confirm Proton quality is higher than those local models in UK, yet still in UK it’s considered a very cheap almost budget vehicle.

Ya.. no petrol increase this year, and it’s already coming to Mid-Sept, it’s like WTF? Prepare for next year la folks, it’s gonna be hell of a year :)

Regarding bigger CC vehicles, I suppose they are more affordable people? By the way bigger CC vehicle means suckin up more fuels… and u know the freakin consequences

The government is bunch of dumb-ass-wankers, but still, you have to give Pak Lah a break, that uncle is our only hope now and he can’t fight alone ;P

Not telling them to change to bikes. More like telling them that there are such option on saving money on fuel XD

Anyone here is a biker, raises your hand! :P

Kimberly, I am fully prepared for unsubsidized petrol (after all most other countries are at that rate (about RM4-5 per litre). However, in return I expect that AFTA truly takes place by 2007, as that would bring the balancing effect. Let’s see if that happens.

ST: yeap, it’s sad sad state our automobile industry

spiller: i honestly don’t think he’s our only hope. we are the hope. sure the citizens can’t do much to change things, but we could show em our power during the election. let them know that we can vote them in, we could vote them out too. so they better buckle up and do a good job.

asyraf: yeah, it’s cost effective, but still dangerous hehe

totoro: AFTA’s implementation was delayed from 2005 to 2007. i believe the biggest reason for the postponement was Proton and now that things have gotten from bad to worse, i wouldn’t be surprised if they would delay it again. Little less than 2 years to turnaround Eon? call me a cynic again. fully prepared or not, honestly we’ve got no choice, do we?

Ya no doubt I agree on that.

But that’s unlikely to happen in near future, when we still have more than 60% of Malaysians living in rural areas and not properly exposed to the political awareness, and thus not realizing what they could do with the voting or following consequences.

By the way, if we do not vote for BN, who would you go for? DAP? PAS?

  13. kimberlycun said:

    on September 13, 2005 at 11:30 am

spiller: PAS. DAP. not voting in the party in question per se, but just to balance out the power. BN is too arrogant because it gains landslide win everytime.

p/s: EWWW. I dunno what was I thinking. Must be brain and hand coordination failure thing. I was rushing out to college. I had meant DAP of course!!!!!

    ya.. sad but true

well, i had the same thought, but when i tried to put my cross on the vote last time, i just can’t see myself voting for KL becoming another freaky-Kelantan state…. hell no! so the X ended up in u-know-where..

ya i know, innocent but yet felt guilty :P
