Character assassination.

Character assassination refers to an intentional attempt to influence the portrayal or reputation of a particular person, whether living or a historical personage, in such a way as to cause others to develop an extremely negative, unethical or unappealing perception of him or her. By its nature, it involves deliberate exaggeration or manipulation of facts to present an untrue picture of the targeted person.

This is a post that ought to be publicised far and wide as it tells a story of eroding one’s reputation through the power of blogging. I myself am a victim of a hatesite and I feel for both Blinkymummy and Xialanxue.

From Xialanxue’s detective work and my own visit to bloglines, I can’t help but be convinced that the hatesite was written by none other than Miss Wendy Cheng. It escapes me how this person could stoop this low to perform character assassination when as a matter of fact her own character is the one constantly in question.

In practice, character assassination usually consists of the spreading of rumors and deliberate misinformation on topics relating to one’s morals, integrity, and reputation.

I am baffled, horrified even, as I had given her far more credit than that. She is now definitely more than an immature, brash, unpolitically correct and perhaps misled girl. This case has explicitly shown us that she is also malicious, vindictive and revengeful, traits that she used to cleverly hide under a pink lining.

There is nothing much I can do really, but only to alert the blog world with my little access to the public on this despicable behaviour by a certain Asian best blogger. So there, I’ve done my part, and it’s time to move on. Pity some people have trouble doing so.

++ Edit ++

Lets just say I think it’s extremely hypocritical for someone to claim that she condemns hatesites, then proceeded to link one on her blog. What’s funnier is that the victims of the aforementioned hatesite have a history of not agreeing to her overzealous blog posts (although only expressed through her blog’s comment section in the most civil manner possible). Same to some of you bloggers who have retained the hatesite’s url disseminated by some anonymous commentor; you know who you are and yes, I think you’re hypocritical and probably malicious too. Yeah, I’m being emo. But can you blame me?

++ Edit ++

She has removed the hatesite link. Good on her.

I saw the hatesite about you and shaolintiger and was really shocked. It’s so disgusting.

but on the other hand, if there isn’t enough people who dislike you then no hatesite about you is going to flourish.

Which is more then I can say about some other Sing…people!

admin: i was shocked too, more shocked by how low one stoops though. and you’re right, my conscience is clear and i don’t really feel threatened by that hatesite. whoever does that site will find out that karma’s a bitch.

Hehe I can’t wait to see how she tries to weasel her way out of this. But on the other hand, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I pity her. Her completely schizo and self-delusional behaviour is really baffling. Truly disturbed this girl.

admin: i know what you mean. i pity her too.

Everytime I read something about XX she’s digging herself another hole.

Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it, and how often do we see her repeating this sort of stuff.

XX’s holes are more profilic than Simpson Re-Runs!

Is there anyone left in the Universe she hasn’t insulted yet?

admin: let me think….your nostrils? lol

admin: yeah i read about it in geekgeek’s. you never know who are the self-serving, ego inflated members on the board of editors of this sort of aggregator aye? actually on second thought, i think you know… haha good luck in spreading the news

News update. I saw Sia Suey on TV, mediacorpse channel 5.

She’s going to be featured on some TV show , I can’t remember which.
Ask around some Singaporeans. They can confirm with you.

admin: and i thought malaysian tv were crappy. lol

    Bah.

I didn’t know you hold a grudge against me even until today simply for retaining a comment that contains the URL to a post that’s negative against you. After all, I never once did ask you to remove all entries that’s negative against me, or against anyone else. Why the double standards?

But, whatever. I’m removing the comment out of good faith, considering it does more harm than good anyway.

Please, for the sake of you and me, end this hostility.

admin: i’m sorry, but a hatesite doesn’t exactly constitute to mere insulting comments (i never asked anyone to remove insulting comments about me either, it’s to the site owner’s prerogative). if anyone posted a hatesite’s url starring you, or even your good friend wendy cheng, i would have no qualms removing it. these things are simply malicious. and thanks for removing the url, i appreciate it. as for the hostility, i believe it takes two to tango.

wasn’t xialanxue a hatesite for xiaxue first? why didn’t you pity her then? i think it makes an interesting read, but at the expense of the parties involved…

admin: what makes you think I didn’t?

For what it’s worth, I have NEVER said anything insulting against you on my blog or anywhere else. We have very differing opinion and heated arguments most of the time, and we both have heads hard as stone, but I have never held any grudges against you as an individual, Kim.

I didn’t like you taking potshots at me so often on something has happened sooooo long ago, but I have never taken anything you said personally. At all.

In any case, if I do bump into you next time I’m in KL, I’ll buy you a round of drinks. :)

admin: for all it’s worth, i don’t poke unless provoked. funny you should say that you didn’t like me taking potshots at you for something that has happened so long ago, as i feel the same about you.

and about holding grudge, anyone who knows me in real thinks i must be the ditziest girl they know. my blog is the only avenue for me to channel serious thoughts that i could actually muster now and then.

if i were a grudge keeping person, don’t you think they’ll be dozens of hatesites flying around now? people who hold grudges set hatesites. but no, i dont do this sort of thing, i don’t hold grudge, it’s too taxing.

for all i know, i spend more time fantasising about [censored] christian bale’s [censored] than holding grudge against anyone (okay, maybe i more than dislike that woman who speculated and gossipped about my lovelife with heaven knows who till it becomes the central theme of that hatesite, but can you blame me? never occured to me to set up a hatesite about her though). if you bumped into me, treat makan please. im a cheap drunk lol

well, what made me think that you might not have done that was everything you wrote in your past entries.

it’s myopic of me, sure, but that’s all that i can gather from your blog.
one can only read your mind as much as you would allow it to be transposed into words in your blog.

it’s dripping with vitriol. all the way from KL.

    keep that acid flowing….

admin: her xlx hatesite was set up before i had any conflict with her (namely the handicap toilet issue). i did pity her then as i was a regular reader- as brash as she was she didnt deserve all the horribly photoshopped pics. i suppose i didn’t write about pitying her then because i hadn’t been a victim myself, i couldnt empathise and hence didn’t feel the urgency to do so. eventually, that hatesite seized to be a hatesite (congrats to xlx for taking a more positive route) and what can i say, the only hatesites remain now are the ones she created for herself and other people. and yes, currently she’s not in my good book, but it doesnt mean i wish her a hatesite.
