Not bothered to gripe.

Woke up to more expensive fuel. Funnily, I don’t feel so wronged this time. I’m guessing I’ve already accepted the fact that expensive fuel (and shitty public amenities) will be a permanent fixture in our lives. There’s no time to complain and bitch, only time to manage the finances better. By the way, stop comparing with what other countries are paying ok? The comparison is so irrelevant that it gives me the rage, not the price hike per se. So what they’re paying higher? They’re earning much higher too! We need to compare the price to what we’re earning. So don’t think I should be thankful because apparently someone of a different nationality is paying more than I do. Please.

Mom is in the hospital now for some outpatient surgery. I’m glad that medical technology has advanced so much that a drastic procedure such as hysterectomy can now be a thing of the past. She’s a strong one, that girl.

I’ve been stuffing myself senseless. I’ll be back to eating blanched vegetables today.

Thought I’d show off the necklace Mom bought me. Isn’t it the most delicate thing ever? I love it.

Sorry but that’s just complete SHIT.

So Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia (countries which have higher fuel prices than Malaysia, but lower GDP) are earning MORE than Malaysians? Well I’m sure that’s news to them, they seem pretty poverty stricken to me.

    Nice picture BTW :P

admin: i dont ever think that just because other countries are doing shittier than us that we should ever be thankful for the status quo, especially when there are better ways to cushion this crisis.

You’re kidding right? Indonesians pay more than we do, but they sure as hell aren’t earning more. Besides, oil is different from food. It is irrelevant of the GDP of a country. Crude oil prices are the same world wide, currently about USD60 per barrel, regardless of whether you are in Saudi Arabia or Mongolia.

admin: not disregarding that other countries are having it bad, just saying that it’s irrelevant to be listing a couple of countries with more expensive fuel than us to pacify our discontentment. even so when there are so many factors suggesting that Malaysia government is able to afford it.

“even so when there are so many factors suggesting that Malaysia government is able to afford it”

What factors are those? If we are able to afford it, we would be a developed nation already. And even if we are a developed nation, there are better ways the government can spend that money. Better healthcare, better public ameneties, better housing plans for the poor, cheaper education….the list is endless.

Fuel subsidy for the general public only feed the hands of the rich and the middle income. It does nothing for the poor, who mostly ride bikes and are not badly affected by the hike. In fact, in the long run, the money saved by the government would help them more.

admin: we can afford those, but this is a bloody corrupted country. now that the subsidies are being taken away, still the money isnt spent in the right place (although it’ll take a couple more years to tell and by the rate things are going now, im very doubtful).
