Went to yet another bf’s company dinner. I don’t usually dig his company functions, but yesterday night was totally worth it. There wasn’t even any food worth mentioning about but they hired the best Indonesian band ever with the most wicked guitarist. That was pretty much it, I happily sat down from 8.30pm to 12.30am listening to the band, observing the guitarist’s lightning speed fingers molesting his guitar.
On the way to my house, we stopped for supper at some bigass foodcourt and I got to have my bigass plate of steamed cockels…the poor man’s alternative to oysters, hehehe.
I still haven’t bought a new monitor because I’m broke and I’m a cheapskate. So yesterday I decided to check out the innards of my combusted monitor to see if I could fix it. Nevermind the fact that I had almost short-circuited my house years ago trying to fix my CPU.
After reading the warning I was a bit scared that I might get eletrocuted.
I think I’ll just curl my hair instead.
And I did exactly that. My hair went limp within an hour though, major letdown.
I’m typing on my brother’s pc now (which I hate) and I’m leaving for Mom’s hometown in an hour. The kingdom of gossipmongers, where brothels exist side by side with family homes and where pressing need for cyber cafes is answered with The Store.
I think I’m going to have so much fun.
Sorry guys, I’ll have to give photo viewing and karaoke a miss
You guys have some real fun!

If you open up TV’s and Monitors, there is still charged stored in some parts of it … it might give you a shock, but shouldnt’ kill you if it is unplugged. [Never open them and play with them while they’re still plugged in … that might kill you!]
Anyway, if you know the parts which store the shock (will be close to where the electrical cable comes in the back as well as a few of the capacitors and stuff), what you do is earth that part (not with yourself … use a wire or something that’s been earthed - just touch the unearthed end to the parts which might still have charge and let the Potential Difference drain itself), then should be okay to handle.
It the TV Monitor has been unplugged for a long while, you might find the charge has naturally disipated anyway.

er, why don’t you just unplug the power circuit then open the monitor and trash the bugger around?
Get a flat screen, the appearance and the price is sexier.
By the way, hope yer man is not taking u to company dinners so that he does not have to take u to dinner dates on his own expense!
admin: good idea, i might do just that once i get a new flat screen hehehe. now that you’ve mentioned about the dinners…hrm…
