I did my best rendition of Lionel Richie and then it struck me. Why the hell is the song called “Three Times A Lady”? And so I asked my boo.

I am no Richie fan but I think your friend is real the perv (not to say that LR is not) to think of it that way. From the lyrics the woman LR praises is so lady-like in quality or character that she is 3 times as better than an average lady. I suppose if one is a perv everything can be perverted.

Lionel Richie wrote the song to his wife, because of all the non-sense she had to put up with in the early days fo the Commodores … where she proved she had a lot of patience with al the crap that she had to put up with. So, she is three times more a lady than most normal ladies. [Using Lady in the term of it’s original meaning, of a female of high breeding with lots of class … actually, they had to be married t a Knight in the old days …]
Still, it means she has three times as much class than a normal lady would have.

For some odd reason, Lionel Richie was on some TV show recently, that song was mentioned and the story behind it, the song was dedicated to his MOM, GRANDMA and his WIFE……so there’s your answer….and guess he’s not much of a perv after all.
