Whistle blower or instigator? You tell me.

You bunch of old farts, is there no such thing as moderation, the middle-way anymore? Acting like a bunch of girls, I’m baffled. Even more baffling that people so blatantly turn on their own principles for personal reasons. It’s understandable that when the original controversial caricature was published that it would arouse attention, especially unwanted ones and we’ve seen the repercussion from that.

However, to insinuate that another (seriously mild, negligible even) caricature is even anywhere remotely offensive to that original and that it’s tantamount to raising a similar controversy here in Malaysia? You’re really no different from them people who have gotten others killed. Whistle blowers? Please. Don’t give yourself too much credit. The operating word here is “instigator”.

Thank goodness we’re too pre-occupied with raising funds for petrol and food.

Yeah, the bird flu thingy is above all issues now.

I just hope no embassy or media office will be torched.

admin: yeah, it is bad case of misprioritisation.

Glad to know some one out there is thinking like me! Yeah I find this pretty foolish. I don’t find the cartoon in NST offensive. Doesn’t he know that that’s also the most popular name in the world. It would be offensive however if NST would to draw the prophet or write negatively about the prophet.

Well whatever it is, this cartoon is certainly a food for thought….I’m going to get some food now….will think more later…

On second thought..I’ll let the political pundits do the thinking.

admin: im glad to know that you’re thinking along the same line too! yes, nobody would even have noticed it if it wasn’t for those drama queens @ so-called leaders of the packs.

Before you think NST are “mild” and innocent, please check NST standpoint when ST and Guanming being mute.

It seems your though like sheep being guide into the barn with invisible fence. Since NST condemn any caricature, whether direct or indirect, they should not publish the cartoon in the first place. They shouldn’t have change tune in the first place.

Is the so called “instigator” help curbing the press freedom? ROFL. Well, ROFL….. I can’t stop my laugh… What local press freedom you are talking about? Freedom to publish Joe public ill fates photo? Freedom to let politicians to curb story/facts?

admin: this is not about making someone taste his own medicine. it’d be better if u look at things in the larger picture than being bitter about NST changing its tune. a fact is a fact is a fact that the current caricature in NST doesnt deserve the kind of brouhaha. spot on on local press freedom, this is just going to make it worse.

    Kim,
Some idiots are more idiotic than others. And some don;t know what is a direct provocation and a reference - and between a caricature and a cartoon.

    admin: agree

I so agree with you.. this whole issue has been blown out of proportions. btw, certain groups (i’m not sure which ones) are staging a demonstration tomorrow (fri) outside the NST office and we the employees are asked not to go in just in case.. i just blogged about it.

And i also agree with u on the `insitgator’ part! Do these people have anything better to do!? There are more pertinent issues that we could get involved in than be a so-called `whistle blower’!

admin: yeah, i heard about the demonstration too. hope everything will be alright and u do take care. i’ve just read your post, and i’ll link it in this post as i believe it conveys the general feeling of NST’s staff. do let me know if you want the link to be taken down, thanks!
