After coming back from Sydney, I thought it’d be a great idea if Malaysia could adopt the hop on-hop off bus.
The bus installed with disabled friendly features will operate from 8.30am to 8.30pm every day. It goes to major attractions and main hotels in Kuala Lumpur through 22 stops at 30-minute intervals.
Tickets valid for 24 hours are priced at RM38 each for adults (RM32 each for group purchase of five and above), RM17 for students, senior citizens and disabled persons. Children under five can board the bus for free.
Mykad holders can enjoy the tour at promotional rate of RM19 per person during the school holidays.
Tickets can be bought on the bus and from travel agents, major hotels, official agents that display the logo or through the internet at www.myhoponhopoff.com
My wish has come true! Check out the news.
It’s pretty affordable too. Anyway, it’s a good start to improving tourism in KL but I hope it’s not some hyped-up project that will fizzle out eventually. You know how it usually ends up like….less than punctual and very dirty buses.
I think I’ll try it out for myself one of these days. You’d be amazed what a KLite hasn’t discovered in her own city.

So they finally came to their senses and started that for VM2007. These things have been running the streets of Europe for ages. Best bets for touring the city.

Isn’t RM38 too expensive while you have Rapid KL for RM 2 for full day?
admin: personally, i think RM38 is a good price, especially for tourists. rapid KL is more suited for local commute and it doesn’t have description of the tourists spots, hence the much cheaper RM2.
