New Year’s Eve Report: The shit that was Transit Sound of Smoke.

On New Year’s Eve, I went to a rave party called Transit in Sepang. The party was held in conjunction with an attempt to get into Malaysia Book of Records by drifting for 50 hours non-stop. Even the rave party was supposed to go on for 50 hours. Nice cool concept on paper, but extremely poor in execution.

Transit was a pathetic excuse for a rave. The party ground was hardly filled up, I could estimate about 200 people altogether which was atrocious. Nobody was dancing because the situation was simply discouraging. I was determined to make my time worth though so I tried to dance, but I failed nevertheless. It didn’t help matter that the music was quite bad, boring monotonous beat..damn techno. Not to mention, the DJs were totally in love with their own voices but who can blame them, I suppose they think speaking more will hype up the crowd.

The party ground was hardly filled up.

I’m not surprised at how this event has failed terribly. It is first and foremost, affiliated with Tourism Malaysia. This government body does have a track record of promoting the oddest shit ever to score tourists points. Case in point, to demolish co-ed swimming pools in hotels and 24 toilets that cost RM400,000 each.

Record breaking attempt + rave party (a damn cool concept I must say) on the other hand was allowed to disappear into oblivion. No banners, no flyers, no radio announcement, no news article, zilch, nada, nothing. I heard that there was SMS spam going around….omg please. I didn’t even know there was such event till ST and KY invited us to go, they also didn’t know that there’s such event till they were invited by respective friends. WTF??

The only redemption point of the whole event was the drift session. Due to the lack of people, we were able to stand quite near to the track and smell the burning rubber. Boy was it fun! Those daredevils were really talented. How can people maneuver cars like that???

One of the hardcore drifters. Dude in orange car was one of the crazier ones of the night.

I was taking pictures of KY’s car when he spun and went at my direction. Honestly, I thought I was going to be killed by KY, haha. It was funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I camwhored a whole lot of times but I hate each and every picture. I’m so flabby and fat now, I’m not even whinging for attention. I am actually fat and flabby. Oh my gawd, I need to hit the gym now.

Attention slut

Attention slut 2

Sher May, Dree, KY, Val and me. Oh my gawd my arms and tree trunk of a waist.

Camwhoring on KY’s MR2 with Val.

Camwhoring on ST’s GTI with Val. Ladies and gentlemen, the difference between a hot chick and a fat chick.

I was contemplating photoshopping my pictures but (1) too lazy (2) need to be humiliated in order to be motivated. Bleh! Going to watch Cicakman with the folks now. Then possibly gym after that. Oh man!!!!

it was actually more like 500 people or maybe slightly more if you count those standing near the track. But in a rave we’d expect at least a few thousand dancing happy people.

I didn’t know the feeling of almost getting killed by me was “fun”. we should do that more often. hehe

admin: i am suicidal at times, you see…

If I’m not mistaken…they were actively passing out flyers weeks before the event. I was at Murni when I saw the girls passing them out but dumped it away coz erm…the DJs that were gonna be there gave us a crappy impression in the flyers.

admin: really? i dont even know who the DJs were there were so many of them!

Yah the rave part was kinda pathetic, I didn’t see any ads at all, S-Kay are you sure that wasn’t VelocityKL? Not Transit, Velocity advertised very well, they had a huge banner on the side of 1-Utama.

The drift part was teh pwn tho!

As it was the DJ’s were kinda bad in the end..monotonous techno, typical KL style.

This kind of event I’d expect at least 10-15,000 people…not the few hundred that was there.

admin: pity, the rave could have been a blast.
